We had the privilege of hosting an intimate private tasting with Château Montrose, exploring four remarkable vintages from one of Bordeaux's most celebrated estates. Nestled in the heart of Saint-Estèphe, Montrose has long been regarded as one of the appellation's finest producers, and the evening offered a rare chance to trace its evolution through four vintages, each shaped by its own growing season and character.

The tasting moved through a fascinating range of styles and stories. The 2003, born from one of the hottest and most unusual growing seasons in recent memory, showed a richness and intensity unlike any other vintage in the lineup. The 2005 followed with the poise and precision that has made it one of the most celebrated vintages of the decade, still tightly wound but showing glimpses of the complexity to come. The 2009 brought a generosity and ripeness that spoke to an exceptional growing season, while the 2010 closed the tasting with the structure and long-term ageing potential that has drawn comparisons to some of the estate's finest historic vintages. Together, the four wines offered a compelling look at how vintage variation shapes a wine's character even when the terroir and winemaking remain constant.
