Cryptocurrency Payments

Convert digital assets into physical ones.

We accept Bitcoin and USDC as payment for fine wine acquisitions.

Why this matters.

Many of our clients hold significant cryptocurrency positions alongside traditional investments. Converting a portion of digital asset holdings into physical fine wine is a meaningful diversification move, from a speculative digital asset into one of the most stable alternative investments available.

Fine wine and Bitcoin share some structural characteristics: both have fixed supply dynamics, both operate outside the traditional financial system, and both are held as stores of value. The difference is that a case of Pétrus has intrinsic consumption value and 200 years of price history. It has never gone to zero.

We also have clients in jurisdictions where converting cryptocurrency to fiat is administratively complex. Paying us directly in BTC or USDC removes an unnecessary step.

Accepted cryptocurrencies.

BTCBitcoin

The original store-of-value asset. We accept BTC for acquisitions above £10,000 equivalent. The rate is fixed at the time of transaction confirmation using a live BTC/GBP mid-market rate with a 1% tolerance window.

USDCUSD Coin

Circle's USDC stablecoin on the Ethereum or Solana networks. Preferred for its price stability during transaction confirmation. Particularly useful for USD-denominated clients.

We do not currently accept ETH, altcoins, or NFT-based tokens. Minimum transaction size: £10,000 equivalent. Contact your portfolio manager to discuss specific requirements.

How It Works

How it works.

I

Agree the acquisition

Your portfolio manager identifies the wines and agrees the transaction with you in your base currency (GBP, USD, EUR, AED).

II

Request a crypto invoice

We generate a payment address and invoice in your chosen cryptocurrency, valid for 30 minutes at a locked conversion rate.

III

Send payment

You transfer the cryptocurrency from your wallet. We confirm receipt on-chain, typically within 10–30 minutes for Bitcoin (1 confirmation), instantly for USDC.

IV

Wine placed in your cellar

Once payment is confirmed, we proceed with the acquisition. Your wine is placed in your named LCB Eton Park account within 5–10 business days.

Compliance note: All cryptocurrency transactions are subject to standard KYC/AML checks. You will be required to provide source-of-funds documentation for any transaction above £25,000 equivalent. Transactions are processed in compliance with UK AML regulations. Cryptocurrency payments do not alter the tax treatment of your wine portfolio.
