LCB Eton Park
HMRC Approved Bonded Warehouse
What bonded storage actually means.
Bonded storage means your wine is held in an HMRC-approved warehouse under customs bond, outside UK excise duty and VAT until the wine is released for consumption. For investment-grade wine, this is the only acceptable storage structure.
It matters for three reasons: first, it avoids duty and VAT on wine you may never consume (significant on high-value bottles). Second, it is the standard required by Liv-Ex and secondary market buyers; wine that has not been stored in bond attracts scrutiny and price discounts. Third, it creates an unbroken chain of custody that is your primary defence against fraud and counterfeiting.
At LCB Eton Park, your wine is held in your own named account, not co-mingled with other clients' stock. Every case has a unique storage reference. When you sell, the buyer receives fully authenticated bonded wine with a clean provenance record.
What your storage includes.
Named account
Your wine is held in your name, not in a pooled client account. Every case has a unique storage reference number.
Climate control
LCB Eton Park maintains a constant 12°C with controlled humidity, the optimal environment for long-term cellaring.
Full insurance
Every bottle is insured to its current Liv-Ex market value. Insurance is reviewed and updated quarterly.
HMRC approved
LCB Eton Park is a licensed HMRC bonded warehouse. Your wine is held in compliance with all excise regulations.
Visit by appointment
You are welcome to visit your cellar at LCB Eton Park by appointment. See your collection in person, remove bottles for consumption, or meet with your account manager on-site.
Delivery on request
When you want to consume wine from your cellar, we arrange duty-paid delivery to your door. Duty and VAT become payable at this point.
Your wine. Independent of us.
Because your wine is registered in your name at LCB Eton Park, you are not dependent on Cellar Advisor to access, manage, or sell it. You own the wine outright. We are your adviser and execution partner, not your custodian.
In summary, having your own private storage gives you the flexibility to choose any counterpart to manage or sell your wines, and peace of mind knowing your assets remain secure should anything happen to Cellar Advisor.
This structure is a matter of principle for us. Transparency about ownership, custody, and costs is the foundation of every relationship we build. You should always know exactly what you own, where it is, and what it is worth.
