Whether buying for collection or future drinking, it is important that your wine is stored in an optimum storage environment for it to retain its value, immaculate provenance, style and condition for when you are ready to pull the cork or sell on. Arc Reserves stands out as our chosen storage provider for several reasons beyond its captivating history and ideal conditions for fine wine storage. Rather than operating as a subordinate account within Cellar Advisors, they provide each client with their own account, ensuring full title of ownership and security for their inventory. This guarantees complete ownership and protection in all scenarios.
Arc Reserves LTD is based in Weybridge, which is 30 minutes south of London, England. The vaults were built in 1939 and have a fascinating history, as part of the pre-war Brooklands racing circuit, and then as a World War II air raid shelter. Now the UK’s largest surviving shelter, it was leased from the Ministry of Defence in 2009 and converted into Locke-King Vaults, to provide an environment perfect for fine wine storage. The cool, dark underground tunnels at Locke-King Vaults offer the perfect conditions for storing fine wines. Cases are stowed in a series of concrete-lined tunnels, 2 metres high and 1 metre wide, sheltered from harmful vibrations and UV light. Temperature is a constant 10-12.5 degrees Celsius and humidity is controlled by Hydrostat at 70%. Wines are held in the very secure tunnels at Locke-King Vaults, located within a private zone protected by barriers and code-entry. There is a single entrance to the storage area which is alarmed and patrolled by 24 hours security.
Additionally, Arc Reserves offers a selling platform, which, while we provide as part of our service for a nominal fee, grants clients the ultimate freedom to sell their wines as they see fit. This additional layer of transparency provides an alternative path to independence from Cellar Advisor, should clients opt for it.
